Energy Efficient Renovation of Single-Family Houses
The European Union has set targets to reduce energy use by 20% by the year 2020. In Sweden and other Nordic countries, the single-family houses account for significant share in energy use. We, at Umeå University conduct this survey as part of a regional project called Renovation Center to identify the house-owners’ perceptions, barriers and opportunities for energy renovation of building stock in northern Scandinavia. The aim of the project is to facilitate the energy efficient renovation in the region and to examine the applicability of the online information sources for this purpose.
